Job Description
Front Desk Receptionist (Full-Time) Kern County Neurological Medical Group is seeking a dependable, patient-focused Front Desk Patient Services Receptionist to join our growing neurology practice. Since 1977, our clinic has provided comprehensive neurological care to patients throughout Kern County, and we continue to expand our clinical services while maintaining a strong commitment to exceptional patient care. This role is ideal for someone who is friendly, organized, and enjoys creating a welcoming experience for patients. The Front Desk Receptionist serves as the first point of contact for our practice and plays an essential role in ensuring our daily operations run smoothly. Unlike larger hospital systems, our practice offers a close-knit and team-oriented environment where employees have the opportunity to make a direct impact on patient experience, clinic operations, and the continued growth of the practice. Responsibilities Greet patients and visitors in a professional, friendly, and compassionate manner Answer and route incoming phone calls while providing exceptional customer service Schedule, confirm, and reschedule patient appointments Verify patient demographics, insurance information, and required documentation Collect copayments and patient balances in accordance with clinic policies Register new patients and maintain accurate electronic medical records (EMR) Assist with appointment reminders, patient communications, and general front office workflows Coordinate with providers, medical assistants, referrals staff, and billing personnel to ensure efficient patient flow Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations Help maintain an organized, clean, and welcoming reception area Perform additional administrative duties as assigned to support clinic operations Qualifications Previous medical front office or customer service experience preferred Experience with electronic medical record (EMR) systems, ARPIMA, a plus Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail Ability to multitask and remain composed in a fast-paced environment Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office and general office software, with 40-60 words per minute Positive attitude with a strong commitment to patient care and teamwork Bilingual (English/Spanish) is strongly preferred Who We're Looking For At Kern County Neurological Medical Group, we believe that exceptional patient care begins with exceptional people.
