Job Summary Join our dynamic veterinary team as a Veterinary Receptionist and become the friendly, organized face of our clinic! In this vital role, you will manage front desk operations, facilitate seamless client communication, and support veterinary staff with administrative and animal care tasks. Your energetic and compassionate approach will ensure every pet owner feels welcomed and confident in our care. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to be part of a passionate team dedicated to animal health and well-being. Duties Greet clients warmly, schedule appointments, and manage patient check-ins and check-outs using veterinary software. Handle medical collections efficiently while maintaining compliance with Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) regulations and USDA guidelines. Assist with animal handling, restraint, and basic animal husbandry to support veterinary procedures and ensure safety for pets, clients, and staff. Support veterinary critical care activities, including animal catheterization, laboratory procedures, and aseptic techniques when necessary. Maintain accurate records of client communications, medical histories, and laboratory results; prepare documentation for surgeries and treatments. Provide exceptional customer service by answering questions about pet care, veterinary terminology, surgery procedures, and companion animal medicine. Manage front desk responsibilities such as answering phones, processing payments, and coordinating with veterinary team members for smooth clinic operations. Experience Prior experience working in a veterinary clinic or animal hospital setting is highly preferred. Familiarity with veterinary software systems and Microsoft Office applications to streamline administrative tasks. Knowledge of veterinary terminology, medical-surgical procedures, and pet grooming techniques enhances your effectiveness in this role. Experience with dog handling, animal restraint techniques, equine experience or working with larger animals is a plus. Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly with clients about pet health issues while adhering to confidentiality standards. Background in laboratory procedures or laboratory experience related to veterinary diagnostics is advantageous. Strong understanding of animal anatomy, drug regulations (DEA), USDA regulations, and veterinary critical care practices ensures compliance and safety.
