Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Receptionist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be the first point of contact for clients and their pets, providing exceptional customer service while managing the front desk operations of our veterinary clinic. This role requires a strong understanding of veterinary terminology and a passion for animal care, ensuring a welcoming environment for both pets and their owners. Duties Greet clients and their pets upon arrival, ensuring a friendly and professional atmosphere. Schedule appointments and manage the clinic's calendar efficiently. Answer phone calls, respond to inquiries, and provide information about services offered. Maintain accurate patient records and ensure all documentation is up-to-date. Process payments and handle billing inquiries with attention to detail. Assist veterinarians and technicians as needed during examinations or procedures. Educate clients on pet care, including vaccination schedules, nutrition, and preventative health measures. Manage inventory of supplies and ensure the reception area is organized and clean. Experience Previous experience in a veterinary setting is preferred but not required; training will be provided. Familiarity with veterinary terminology is essential to communicate effectively with staff and clients. Knowledge of animal anatomy, husbandry practices, dog handling, and pet care will be beneficial in this role. Experience in dog training or veterinary critical care is a plus but not mandatory. Strong customer service skills with the ability to handle sensitive situations with empathy and professionalism.
