Position Summary We are seeking a professional, dependable, and detail-oriented Office Clerk / Receptionist to join our Payroll team in Salinas, CA. This position serves as the first point of contact for employees, applicants, visitors, and the public while providing clerical, administrative, and reception support in a fast-paced office environment. The ideal candidate is organized, customer service-oriented, and able to effectively manage multiple priorities while maintaining a high level of professionalism and confidentiality. Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively are essential to success in this role. Essential Responsibilities Greet and assist employees, applicants, visitors, and members of the public in a professional and courteous manner. Answer, screen, and route incoming telephone calls to the appropriate department or individual. Respond to employment inquiries and provide general information regarding employment opportunities. Provide coverage and support for the main Reception area as needed. Assist with employment verification requests, salary and benefit surveys, and other information requests. Prepare, type, and distribute letters, memoranda, correspondence, and other documents. Maintain and update files, records, databases, mailing systems, and inventory. Receive, sort, distribute, and route incoming mail and prepare outgoing correspondence and packages. Ship and receive incoming and outgoing packages. Operate standard office equipment, including computers, copiers, scanners, fax machines, and telephone/voicemail systems. Assist with general clerical and administrative tasks within the Payroll department. Maintain confidentiality when handling employee information, records, and other sensitive documents. Follow established company and departmental policies and procedures. Work effectively in an environment with frequent interruptions, changing priorities, and a high level of interaction with employees and the public. Perform other duties as assigned.
