Healthier Pet Veterinary Care is an independently owned small-animal veterinary practice in Santa Ana, CA , seeking an experienced Veterinary Receptionist / Client Service Representative to join our team. This is not an entry-level position . We are specifically looking for someone with recent veterinary front-desk experience who understands the pace and responsibilities of a veterinary practice and can become increasingly independent after learning our protocols and standards. About Healthier Pet Veterinary Care We are a small, independently owned veterinary practice focused on personalized patient care and a high standard of client service. We proudly serve both English- and Spanish-speaking pet owners. Because we work closely together as a small team, reliability, initiative, communication, attention to detail, and accountability matter. We appreciate team members who take pride in their work, remain engaged throughout the day, and look for appropriate ways to help the team succeed. What You'll Be Doing Answer and manage incoming phone calls professionally and efficiently Schedule appointments accurately according to clinic protocols Check patients in and out and help coordinate daily client and patient flow Review invoices and process payments accurately Communicate clearly with clients regarding appointments, medications, medical records, follow-up care, and clinic policies Maintain accurate patient and client information Coordinate with the veterinarian and clinical team throughout the day Follow established protocols and recognize when a situation needs to be brought to the medical team or management Maintain an organized and professional reception area Provide calm, respectful, and compassionate service, including during difficult or stressful client interactions You'll Be a Great Fit If... Qualifications Minimum of 2 years of recent veterinary front-desk/reception experience in a veterinary hospital or clinic Strong understanding of veterinary front-office workflow and terminology Experience using veterinary practice management software Strong telephone and client communication skills Experience scheduling veterinary appointments and managing multiple priorities Comfortable communicating with clients regarding estimates, payments, medications, medical records, and clinic policies Excellent attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records Ability to remain organized and professional in a busy environment Ability to follow established protocols consistently Ability to work independently after appropriate training Dependable, punctual, accountable, and willing to take initiative Bilingual English/Spanish strongly preferred
Schedule Full-time Tuesday-Friday:
Shifts scheduled between 8:00 AM and 6:00
PM Saturday:
Shifts scheduled between 8:00 AM and 3:00 PM Sundays and Mondays off Candidates must be available to work Saturdays. Compensation & Benefits Starting at $22.00 per hour , with opportunities for increases based on demonstrated skills, reliability, performance, and ability to work independently Health insurance 401(k) retirement plan Paid time off (PTO) Employee pet-care discount after eligibility requirements are met Sundays and Mondays off We value previous experience, but we also believe compensation and advancement should reflect demonstrated ability and performance in the position.
