Qualifications:
- Dental Front Office - 2 years' experience (preferred)
- Sound knowledge of dental terminology
- Proficient in dental practice management software (Open Dental)
- Working knowledge of general office administrative practices
- Good telephone etiquette
- Exceptional organizational skills
- Excellent customer service skills Job Duties Include Ability to:
- Greet and welcome patients to the practice and create an exceptional experience for each office visit. Verify general information and update for each patient.
- Receive patient inquiries at the front desk and over the phone and provide patients with a satisfactory response.
- Schedule, cancel and reschedule patient appointments.
- Make daily confirmation calls and document actions in Open Dental.
- Facilitate smooth communication between patients and doctors by passing on patients' requests to doctors while also ensuring that doctors' instructions are passed on to patients.
- Prepare daily schedules for the dentists, hygienists, dental assistants and other team members.
- Update patient charts with x-rays, treatment plans, and financial/insurance information.
- Create, present and schedule treatment plans. Schedule follow-up calls for unscheduled treatment plans.
- Calculate fees, coordinate financial agreements and process payments, including cash and credit card transactions.
- Communicate with dental insurance providers to determine if patients are required to make co-payments.
- File insurance claims forms for completed dental care, determine billing codes, and follow up with dental insurance companies.
- Place orders for office supplies after checking inventory.
- Perform general office duties as requested.
