The Wordy Bird Salon | Fort Collins, CO Part-Time | Approximately 20 hours/week | Set Schedule | Saturdays Required The Wordy Bird Salon is looking for a friendly, organized, people-loving person to join our team at the front desk! Our front desk is the first hello, the last goodbye, and a big part of what keeps our salon running smoothly. We're looking for someone who genuinely enjoys being around people, has an interest in the beauty industry, and is eager to learn what great customer service looks like. No salon or front desk experience is required! We're happy to teach the right person. You must be at least 16 years old. What You'll Do Greet clients and make them feel welcome from the moment they walk in Answer phones and salon messages Schedule, reschedule, and manage client appointments Check clients in and out and process payments Help clients with retail purchases and product questions Communicate with our stylists and help keep the day running on schedule Keep the front desk, lobby, and salon looking clean and welcoming Help with laundry and light salon cleaning throughout the day Learn and use our salon systems, including Meevo, Vish, and GroupMe Pay attention to what's happening around the salon and jump in when something needs to be done Who We're Looking For You don't need salon experience, but you do need to enjoy people and have a genuine interest in hair, beauty, and the salon industry. We'd love someone who is: Friendly, outgoing, and comfortable talking with all kinds of people Interested in the beauty industry and excited to learn more about it Dependable and punctual Organized and able to juggle several things at once Calm and positive when things get busy Willing to learn and receive feedback Comfortable taking initiative instead of always waiting to be asked A team player who notices the little things Excited to learn what great customer service looks like The front desk plays an important role in the flow of our salon.
