On-Call (as needed)
Scope of Position:
Greet visitors at the front door, handle incoming phone calls and inquiries, and receive or deliver incoming parcels as needed. Responsibilities Check voice messages and forward them to appropriate parties. Direct incoming phone calls and inquiries to appropriate internal and external resources. Ensure personnel and visitors entering the building comply with building protocols. Greet all visitors warmly in a way that reflects The Salvation Army's mission and integrity. Always engage professionally and positively with the public, whether in person, via email, or over the phone. Maintain a clean and professional work environment. Monitor video surveillance of the exterior of the building and report any concerns immediately. Open the front gate at the beginning of the workday and secure it at the end of the workday. Accept parcels and inform the relevant personnel of delivery. Qualifications Receptionist experience required, preferably in a non-profit setting. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions. Ability to work in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment. Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team. Basic proficiency in computers and Microsoft Office. Continual attention to detail, highly organized, and able to establish priorities. Demonstrate discretion, integrity, and confidentiality in dealing with all matters. Effective interpersonal skills and strong customer service skills in person and on the telephone. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Must maintain a professional appearance. Self-motivated and dependable. Will respect and promote the interests of The Salvation Army.
