Assist with animal handling, restraint, and basic animal husbandry to support veterinary procedures while ensuring safety for animals and staff. Support veterinary staff during surgeries, laboratory procedures, and critical care by preparing supplies and maintaining aseptic techniques. Manage phone inquiries professionally, provide information about pet care services, and coordinate follow-up appointments or treatments. Maintain organized records of client communications, medical histories, laboratory results, and treatment plans in accordance with veterinary administrative protocols. Ensure the front desk area remains clean, organized, and welcoming while supporting overall clinic operations. Requirements Proven experience in a veterinary clinic setting or related animal care environment with knowledge of veterinary terminology. Strong skills in customer service, client communication, and front desk management using veterinary software such as PetVet or AVImark. Familiarity with medical collection procedures, laboratory processes, drug regulations (DEA), USDA guidelines, and aseptic techniques. Experience handling various animals including dogs, cats, horses (equine experience preferred), with knowledge of animal restraint techniques. Ability to perform animal catheterization, assist with surgery preparations, and understand companion animal medicine principles. Knowledge of dog training, grooming practices, pet grooming techniques, and basic animal husbandry is a plus. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite for documentation purposes along with excellent organizational skills. Physical ability to stand for extended periods, lift animals safely, and perform routine cleaning duties as needed.
