Front Office Pediatric Receptionist About Bennett Pediatrics Bennett Pediatrics, LLC is a growing pediatric practice dedicated to providing compassionate, high-quality healthcare to children and their families. We are seeking a dependable, friendly, and professional Front Office Pediatric Receptionist to join our team and help create a positive experience for our patients and families from the moment they arrive. Position Summary The Front Office Pediatric Receptionist is responsible for providing excellent customer service to patients and families while supporting the daily operations of the pediatric office. This position requires someone who is organized, professional, dependable, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced medical environment. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills and the ability to work well with children, parents, providers, medical assistants, and other office staff. Responsibilities Greet patients and families in a friendly, professional manner. Check patients in and out for appointments. Verify patient demographics, insurance information, and contact information. Collect copays, coinsurance, deductibles, and applicable self-pay fees. Answer and route incoming telephone calls appropriately. Schedule, reschedule, and confirm patient appointments. Assist with appointment reminders and follow-up calls. Obtain and update patient registration information. Scan, upload, and organize patient documents into the electronic health record (EHR). Assist with medical records requests, forms, school forms, and other administrative paperwork. Maintain accurate patient records and ensure required information is documented. Communicate with pharmacies, specialists, schools, insurance companies, and other healthcare offices as needed. Assist with referrals, authorizations, and other front-office administrative tasks. Monitor incoming faxes, messages, and electronic communications. Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming front-office area. Follow all HIPAA, privacy, safety, and office policies. Protect confidential patient and practice information at all times. Work closely with medical assistants and providers to ensure smooth patient flow. Assist with other administrative duties as assigned by the Office Manager or Practice Administrator. Qualifications Previous medical office, pediatric office, receptionist, or customer service experience preferred. Experience with an electronic health record (EHR) system preferred. Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance verification is a plus. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong organizational and time-management skills. Ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities. Professional, friendly, and compassionate personality. Must be comfortable interacting with children and their parents/guardians. Ability to remain calm and professional in a busy medical office. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Must be dependable, punctual, and able to work as part of a team. Ability to maintain strict patient confidentiality and follow HIPAA regulations.
