Position Summary:
At Dr. G's Urgent Care, the Front Desk Receptionist, is the first person our patients see when they arrive. The Front Desk Receptionist is responsible for greeting all of our patients with a smile as they arrive. The Front Desk Receptionist is also responsible for answering all incoming phone calls and determining the need of the caller and how you can assist. Scanning documents, scheduling/canceling appointments, verifying insurance, collecting deductibles and co-pay's are other responsibilities of the Front Desk Receptionist.Responsibilities:
- Always maintain a polite and professional manner
- Communicates clearly with patients, visitors, and staff
- Bilingual skills are a plus
- Works well in a fast-paced environment
- Able to handle multiple tasks at any given time
- Uses excellent phone etiquette at all times
- Consistently professional and courteous when interacting with patients or visitors
- Promptly answers phone calls, accurately determines the need of the caller, and how to assist them
- Knowledgeable in health insurance, and the patient payment process
- Recognizes patients experiencing medical emergencies, and quickly notifies the clinical staff to assist them
- Manages the patient waiting room queues
- Ability to make efficient use of time while at work without having to be reminded or monitored
- Able to take direction and follow through
- Carefully and accurately enters information into medical record system
- Verifies insurance eligibility, and correctly determines additional payments required
- Remains calm during stressful situations
- Skilled at diffusing situations involving upset patients or visitors
- Ability to collect money for patient's visit & passed due balances
- Ability to manage money accurately
- Responsible for balancing cash drawer at the beginning and end of each shift
- Acts with integrity and honesty in all work-related activities
- Complies with HIPAA and OSHA standards
- At least 2 years of experience in customer service industry
- 2 year of experience in medical front office registration or billing of medical facility is preferred
- Must be fluent in English, speaking and writing
