The Animal League Wellness Center (located in Leesburg, FL) is a low-cost, high-volume clinic which supports The Animal League, a nonprofit, no kill 501(c)(3) animal shelter which is located in Groveland, Florida. The Wellness Center is a fast-paced clinic which provides affordable care to the public such as wellness exams, vaccinations, spay/neuters, x-rays, dentals, and cold laser treatments. EXPERIENCED
(MUST have minimum 1 year experience in Veterinary Receptionist role) full time veterinary receptionist to join our team. Hourly wages range $16-18 but are dependent on experience and ability. We have a fantastic Veterinarian and a caring, fun and supportive staff. Our daily schedule is M-Th 8:30a-5:00pm and Fri 8:00-2:00pm. Job Summary:
This position is responsible for providing exceptional standard of care for all patients and clients thru offering a friendly greeting by phone and in person.
Duties/Responsibilities :
  • Greeting all clients in a friendly and welcoming manner.
  • Assessing pets that enter clinic and make sure immediate care is not needed.
  • Answer questions from clients about their visit or general inquiries.
  • Check-in patients.
  • Alerting staff of patient's arrival.
  • Answering phone calls.
  • Schedule appointments, consultations and surgical procedures.
  • Issue invoices for services.
  • Prepare patient files or forms.
  • Monitor incoming/outgoing emails.
  • Process client payment transactions.
  • Assist with purchase of pet food or other pet related items.
  • Maintain cleanliness of any assigned areas.
  • Any additional tasks as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
  • Passionate about animals.
  • Ability to relate with customers in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Excellent phone etiquette.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Exceptional customer service and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work with animals and to remain calm in strenuous circumstances.
  • Ability to follow very specific protocols; particularly regarding disease cross-contamination.
  • Patience and compassion for both frightened pets and their human
  • Ability to work as a team.
  • Ability to follow instructions.
  • Punctuality and excellent attendance is expected
Supervisory Responsibilities:
    None Reports To:
      Clinic Practice Manager Education and Experience:
      • High School Diploma or Equivalent.
      • Valid driver's license.
      • Minimum 1-year Veterinary Receptionist experience.
      • Minimum 1-year Animal Care experience.
      • Strong knowledge of basic veterinary procedures, medication, and language.
      • Basic use of computer and email.
      Physical Requirements:
      • Ability and willingness to work with cats and dogs of all breeds, sizes, and temperaments
      • Work will require the use of sanitizing chemicals.
      Work Environment:
      • Work will be around animals that may bite, scratch, or carry disease.
      • Time will be spent with/around dogs and cats of all sizes and breeds.
      • Work will occasionally involve cases of animal abuse or neglect and other emotionally challenging situations.
