Front Desk Coordinator (PRN Float) The Cardiovascular Center of Florida | PRN / As Needed Overview The Cardiovascular Center of Florida is seeking a flexible dynamic and dependable Front Desk Coordinator (PRN Float) to provide front office coverage across multiple clinic locations as needed. This role supports operational coverage for staffing shortages, PTO coverage, call-outs, and other scheduling needs. Candidates must be comfortable working in different office locations and adapting to changing schedules. This vital role involves providing exceptional patient service, managing administrative duties, and supporting clinical operations across multiple departments. As a key point of contact, you will ensure smooth daily operations by coordinating patient intake, verifying insurance information, and maintaining accurate medical records. This position offers flexibility to support our clinic's needs while fostering a positive environment focused on quality care and efficient office management. Responsibilities Greet patients warmly upon arrival, ensuring a positive first impression and smooth check-in process Verify insurance coverage and perform insurance eligibility checks using systems like Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, and eClinicalWorks Schedule patient appointments accurately utilizing medical scheduling software such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft Manage multi-line phone systems with professionalism, providing clear communication and directing calls appropriately Maintain accurate and complete medical records, including filing, documentation review, and data entry in EMR (Electronic Medical Record) systems Assist with billing processes by collecting payments, processing medical collections, and understanding CPT coding, ICD-10/ICD-9 coding requirements Support clinical staff with administrative tasks such as intake procedures, preparing care plans, and coordinating patient flow within the clinic Skills Extensive experience with medical office management including front desk operations, medical reception, and clerical support Proficiency in EMR systems such as Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, eClinicalWorks, Dentrix, or Eaglesoft Strong knowledge of medical terminology, ICD coding (ICD-10/ICD-9), CPT coding, and Medicare guidelines Excellent customer service skills with a professional phone etiquette and the ability to handle sensitive information in compliance with HIPAA regulations Bilingual abilities are highly valued to serve diverse patient populations effectively Demonstrated experience in insurance verification, billing procedures, and health information management Competent in computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel), typing (10 key), filing systems, and multi-line phone operation Prior clinic or dental office experience is preferred; familiarity with dental terminology and dental office management software like Dentrix or Eaglesoft is a plus Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities while maintaining attention to detail in documentation review and administrative support tasks Join our team as a Front Desk Coordinator (PRN Float) to play an essential role in delivering outstanding patient care while supporting our clinic's operational excellence.
