Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and friendly Front Desk Receptionist to join our orthopedic medical office. In this position, you will support clinical staff by coordinating patient appointments, managing medical records, and assisting with billing and insurance processes. Responsibilities Greet patients and visitors warmly, providing exceptional customer service while managing check-in procedures. Schedule patient appointments accurately using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) Verify insurance coverage, collect co-pays, and process payments using medical billing software while maintaining compliance with HIPAA regulations. Manage incoming phone calls with professionalism, providing information or directing inquiries to appropriate clinical staff. Maintain accurate medical records by reviewing documentation for completeness and ensuring proper filing in EHR systems like eClinicalWorks or other electronic health record platforms. Assist with administrative tasks including data entry, filing, faxing, and scanning documents related to patient care plans and clinical notes. Support clinical staff by preparing paperwork for CPT coding, ICD-9/10 coding, and documentation review to facilitate accurate billing and coding processes. Uphold confidentiality policies related to health information management and ensure compliance with HIPAA standards at all times. Experience Prior experience working in a medical office setting, preferably within an orthopedic environment. Verifying appointments, faxing, referrals, collecting and updating patients information and copays. Demonstrated proficiency in EMR/EHR systems Strong knowledge of health insurance processes including Medicare, Medicaid, and private payers. Familiarity with medical terminology, CPT coding, ICD coding (ICD-9/10), and documentation review practices. Excellent computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and typing (including 10-key). Bilingual abilities are highly desirable to serve diverse patient populations effectively. Exceptional customer service skills combined with clerical experience in a healthcare setting.
