Receptionist (TEMP) Georgia State University College of Law Part of one of the Southeast's largest comprehensive research universities, Georgia State Law is a dynamic urban-centered law school located in the heart of Atlanta with approximately 650 full- and part-time students. The College of Law was created in 1982 based on its founders' belief that a first-rate law school not only can but also must be tailored to meet the needs of the students who enter its doors. Although Georgia State Law has grown substantially in scope and reputation during the last 40+ years, this flexible, entrepreneurial, and student-centric spirit continues to resonate throughout our institution. Our community fosters a culture based on ambition, hard work, dedication, and perseverance. The College of Law's Administrative Services Division is hiring for a receptionist. This is a full-time staff position. This position provides general office support with a variety of administrative activities and related tasks. This position serves as a receptionist for deans, faculty, and administrative staff for the College of Law. This position manages a multi-line message center; receives and directs incoming calls; greets students, faculty, staff, and other patrons; receives and routes certified mail packages and other materials for faculty, staff, and students; answers general inquiries and directs visitors to appropriate business offices within the Law School and University. Essential job responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: Serves as the initial point of contact for faculty and administrative staff and manages the multi-line telephone system. Grants access to permitted visitors for special area parking. Receives and routes certified mail packages and other materials for faculty, staff, and students. Coordinates and maintains tracking system for pick-up and delivery of express mail packages. Sorts mail and delivers packages. Must be able to lift 30 pounds. Organizes and keeps supplies stocked for copy rooms and kitchens. Distributes monthly departmental telephone statements. Maintains general security by following departmental procedures and controlling visitor access. Position may, on occasion, be required to arrive early or remain late for special events.
It complies with the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act (Clery Act) to provide information on certain crimes on campus. This position may be designated as a Campus Security Authority, ensuring that reported crimes are routed to the appropriate University office. Minimum Requirements:
