Company Description Language Services Hawaii specializes in providing communication services across more than 80 languages, reflecting the unique ethnic and cultural diversity of Hawaii. We assist government agencies, non-profits, and businesses with oral interpretation and written translation services. With a focus on meeting the substantial need for Asian, South Asian, and Pacific Island languages, our linguist team is tailored to address these regional requirements. Our commitment is to foster understanding and bridge communication gaps for the Hawaiian community. Job Description This is a full-time, on-site Scheduling Assistant role based in Honolulu, HI. The Scheduling Assistant will be responsible for receiving requests for services, coordinating and managing schedules for interpretation and translation services, and ensuring seamless service delivery. Daily tasks will include managing phone inquiries, maintaining client schedules, providing administrative support, and assisting in staff training as needed. Pay is commensurable with experience. Duties and Responsibilities Receive requests for interpreters via phone, email and fax Contact interpreters to schedule them for assignments Handle time sensitive requests and book an interpreter promptly Respond to general inquires for services and forward them to appropriate department Maintain a confidential "General Ledger" of assignments Accurate data entry Prepare and send confirmation timesheets to clients and interpreters Qualifications High School Diploma or GED equivalent Good English speaking skills Strong Communication and Phone Etiquette skills Excellent Customer Service abilities to effectively engage with diverse clients and interpreters of different languages and backgrounds Proven Administrative Assistance experience, including organizational and scheduling capabilities Strong technical agility and fast software adaptation skills Detail-oriented and capable of multitasking in a fast-paced environment Ability to learn and navigate complex scheduling systems Adept at high-sped data entry Familiarity with languages or cultural communities serviced by the organization is a plus Start Date June 1st, 2026
Pay:
$17.00 - $20.00 per hourBenefits:
