Job Description
Overview We are seeking a highly organized and professional Front Desk Receptionist and Administrative Assistant to join our Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery practice. This role is vital in providing exceptional patient service, managing administrative tasks, and supporting the clinical team. The ideal candidate will possess strong dental office experience, proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems, and excellent communication skills to ensure smooth daily operations within a busy dental and surgical environment. Duties Greet patients warmly and manage multi-line phone systems with professionalism and courtesy Schedule appointments, coordinate patient intake, and verify insurance coverage Collect payments and perform accurate medical billing and coding, including
CPT, ICD-9, ICD-10
coding in compliance with HIPAA regulations Review and update patient records ensuring accuracy in documentation review and health information management Verify insurance benefits, process claims, and handle insurance verification efficiently Maintain organized medical records and ensure compliance with HIPAA standards for confidentiality Manage office administrative support tasks including filing, data entry (10 key typing), and document management Provide exceptional customer service by addressing patient inquiries both in person and over the phone with proper phone etiquette Support clinic operations by assisting with scheduling, intake procedures, and office management duties Requirements Proven experience in a dental office setting with familiarity in clinic operations and front desk responsibilities Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems Knowledge of dental (ideally) and medical billing, coding (CPT, ICD-9/10), insurance verification Strong understanding of medical terminology related to oral surgery or dental procedures; familiarity with dental terminology is a plus Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and office management software (Dentrix, Eaglesoft) Exceptional organizational skills with attention to detail in documentation review and record keeping Bilingual abilities are preferred to serve diverse patient populations effectively Ability to handle sensitive information discreetly while maintaining compliance with HIPAA regulations Strong communication skills with professional phone etiquette and customer service experience This position offers an engaging opportunity to work within a dynamic healthcare environment where your administrative expertise directly contributes to patient care excellence.Job Type:
