Job Description

Overview We are seeking a dedicated and organized Medical Receptionist to join our team at a busy medical office. The ideal candidate will be the first point of contact for patients, providing exceptional customer service while managing various administrative tasks. This role requires a strong understanding of medical records, HIPAA regulations, and the ability to handle medical billing processes efficiently. Duties Greet patients and visitors warmly, ensuring a welcoming environment. Manage patient check-in and check-out processes, including scheduling appointments and confirming patient information. Maintain accurate medical records and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations. Assist with the preparation and organization of care plans for patients. Handle incoming calls, emails, and inquiries in a professional manner. Process medical billing and insurance claims, including Medicare submissions. Coordinate with healthcare providers to facilitate smooth patient flow within the clinic. Perform data entry tasks accurately into computerized systems. Ensure that the reception area is clean, organized, and stocked with necessary materials. Be willing to take vitals and room patients. update medical charts. Qualifications Previous experience as a Medical Receptionist or in a similar role within healthcare setting is preferred. Familiarity with medical billing practices and insurance verification processes. Strong knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality. Proficient in using computerized systems for managing medical records and scheduling appointments. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a focus on customer service. Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks efficiently. A compassionate attitude towards patients and an understanding of their needs. Being able to draw blood is preferred, but not required.
