Receptionist
Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a professional, organized, and detail-oriented Receptionist to join our ambulatory surgery center team. This position will be responsible for providing excellent front-office customer service while assisting with patient registration, insurance verification, payment collection, and other administrative duties. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, excellent attention to detail, the ability to maintain patient confidentiality, and experience working in a medical or healthcare setting. Responsibilities Greet patients, families, physicians, and visitors in a friendly and professional manner. Answer and direct incoming telephone calls and messages. Register patients and obtain necessary demographic, insurance, and contact information. Verify patient information and maintain accurate records. Provide patients with appropriate forms, instructions, and paperwork. Assist with patient check-in and check-out processes. Collect copays, deductibles, deposits, and other patient balances as appropriate. Maintain a professional and welcoming reception area. Protect patient privacy and maintain HIPAA compliance at all times. Assist office manager Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required. Previous medical receptionist, medical billing, or healthcare administrative experience preferred. Experience with insurance verification and medical claims preferred. Knowledge of medical terminology preferred. Familiarity with electronic medical records and billing software preferred. Strong computer and organizational skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to handle confidential information appropriately. Ability to work independently while functioning effectively as part of a team. Professional, dependable, and patient-focused demeanor. This position works in a fast-paced ambulatory surgery center environment and requires frequent interaction with patients, families, physicians, clinical staff, insurance companies, and other healthcare professionals. The successful candidate must be able to prioritize multiple responsibilities while maintaining accuracy, professionalism, and confidentiality.
