SUMMARY Performs a variety of secretarial and clerical duties and performs various tasks concerning patient records maintained in the
RIS/PACS
systems in the radiology department.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Specific Duties:
- Greets all departmental visitors to ensure that accurate and efficient departmental communications is facilitated through positive and expedient action.
- Answers telephone according to hospital policy in a courteous manner expressing a greeting to the caller and identifying self and department.
- Schedules patients in the RIS according to established procedures.
- Utilizes RIS to locate and print radiology reports.
- Sorts and prepares reports for distribution.
- Digitizes outside films to be loaded into PACS.
- Telephones call reports as requested.
- Prints images and creates CD/DVDs from PACS as requested to leave the radiology department.
- Records all image/CD/DVD requests in RIS.
- Scans all necessary forms or documents into PACS.
- Transports contrast media and non-narcotic medication upon request.
- Escorts outpatients to and from Radiology.
- Provides Services Excellence by using the "AIDET"

EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS
- High School diploma or GED equivalency. Experience in a healthcare setting helpful but not essential. Medical terminology helpful. Benefits
