(HCCS) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization located in Corydon, Indiana, dedicated to serving as a vital safety net for local residents. Established in 1976, HCCS works to help individuals, children, and families meet their basic needs and achieve long-term stability through direct support and community development programs. Key services include monthly food pantry distributions, mobile food pantries, emergency utility and eviction prevention assistance, and community meal programs operated in partnership with local partners. Responsibilities Greeting Visitors:
Serving as a friendly, welcoming primary contact for clients, donors, and other volunteers entering the facility.
Answering Phones:
Managing incoming telephone calls, responding to general inquiries, and taking/routing messages to appropriate staff members.
Light Office & Data Support:
Assisting with basic administrative duties, including light paperwork organization and entering client/operational data to keep organizational records accurate. Qualifications No prior experience necessary.
What We're Looking For A Consistent Schedule:
Someone available to set a dependable weekly routine (for example, two mornings a week).

Learning Objectives Client Communications & Front-Line Service De-escalation & Active Listening:
Learn techniques for handling sensitive client interactions, practicing empathy, and active listening.
Professional Phone Etiquette:
Gain proficiency in managing multi-line phone calls, capturing accurate messages, and relaying information efficiently to appropriate staff members.
Office Operations & Administrative Workflows Data Management:
Develop basic competence in client recordkeeping, data entry accuracy, and digital intake software or computer forms.
Information Routing & Workflow:
Learn how a non-profit intake system operates by directing visitors and inquiries through proper internal channels.
Professional Ethics & Confidentiality Data Privacy Compliance:
Understand and apply privacy protocols (such as HIPAA or organizational confidentiality rules) regarding sensitive client information and social services documentation.
Professionalism & Dependability:
Build workplace reliability skills, time management, and professional workplace communication habits.
