Job Description

Overview We are seeking a compassionate and organized Veterinary Receptionist to join our team. This role is essential in providing excellent customer service while ensuring the smooth operation of our veterinary clinic. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in animal care, possess excellent communication skills, and be able to handle various administrative tasks. You will be the first point of contact for pet owners, helping them feel welcomed and supported during their visit. Responsibilities Greet clients and their pets with warmth and professionalism, ensuring a positive experience from the moment they enter the clinic. Schedule appointments and manage the clinic's calendar efficiently. Handle medical collections and process payments accurately. Maintain accurate patient records, including medical histories and treatment plans. Assist veterinarians and technicians as needed during examinations or procedures. Provide information to clients about services, treatments, and pet care. Manage incoming calls, emails, and inquiries promptly and courteously. Ensure the reception area is clean, organized, and welcoming for clients. Skills The ideal candidate should possess a combination of required skills and nice-to-have skills that enhance their ability to perform effectively in this role: Strong knowledge of veterinary terminology and animal anatomy. Experience in medical collection processes. Familiarity with kennel operations and animal husbandry practices. Background in veterinary critical care or laboratory experience is advantageous. Skills in animal handling, restraint techniques, and dog training are essential for ensuring safety during visits. Experience with pet grooming is a plus, as well as equine experience for those working with larger animals. Proficiency in aseptic techniques to maintain cleanliness during procedures is beneficial.
