Job Description
Greets all guests in an friendly manner upon arrival. Handles complex duties requiring judgment and discretion. Extensive knowledge of scheduling, computer skills, and general flow of clients in a rehabilitation setting. Works under general supervision following established procedures and guidelines. 1) Greets all guests that come into the Rehabilitation Services Department. 2) Facilitates patient registration. Maintains and verifies patient information in specific scheduling programs, facilitates next day schedules and charge slips, and makes appropriate updates to the daily schedule as new orders/referrals are received. 3) Inputs all rehabilitation charges for processing by financial services. 4) Manages daily therapist schedules, assesses daily flow of patients, reschedules patients as needed and/or requested. 5) Communicates patient updated information with billing department. 6) Alphabetizes, copies and disburses appointment slips. 7) Completes moderately complex filing tasks in accordance with prescribed standards. 8) Maintains cleanliness of the waiting area. 9) Provides clerical support to other departments as requested. 10) Demonstrates awareness of emergency situations and performs duties appropriately. 11) Completes documentation according to Pulaski Memoríal Hospital standards. 12) Provides an environment conducive to safety for patients, visitors, and staff. 13) Monitors Temperature Logs and Daily Responsibility checklists. 14) Perform case management functions according to payer source/care setting (a) Worker's Compensation (i) Comply with employee's case manager requests to forward documentation and coordinate progress notes (ii) Achieve authorization for service (b) Commercial (1) Perform duties as required by the source payer to minimize denials (c) Medicaíd (i) Coordinate eligibility with admissions and verify program enrollment (ii) Forward all authorization materials to program administrator for approval (d) Home Health Care (i) Monitor reassessment periods to ensure therapist compliance with standards 15) Organize department metrics for review by Director of Rehab 16) Review/Monitor Compliance Standards as part of Chart Maintenance Duties (a) Verify professional documentation is complete (b) Tally quality indicators for report generation by Director of Rehab (c) Coordinate communications with physicians to certify the therapy plan of care and authenticate verbal orders according to HFAP standards (d) Maximize reimbursement potential 17) Maximize productivity/time management through manipulation of the professional staff schedule and alert the Director of Rehab when challenges exist 18) Coordinate information with Financial Services/HIM to reconcile account information and facilitate month end billing activities
