Interrelationships:
Works cooperatively with all hospital departments, medical staff, patients, and visitors.
JOB SUMMARY
Greeting all types of patients, face-to-face or over the phone, making appointments and directing them to the proper department. Competes patient registrations which includes accepting co-pays, patient payments, and logging them onto the daily payment spreadsheet.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Experience:
Business office experience, medical setting preferred. Computer proficiency required.
Education:
High School or equivalent required. Req. Cert./ Registration None required.
Job Duties:
(This list may not include all of the duties assigned) Answer inquiries and obtain information from customers, visitors, and other interested parties. Register patients and collect co-pays including scanning of insurance cards and ensuring all information is correct. Understands the appointment scheduling software and the way each type of appointment is made. Scans insurance EOBs. Prepare necessary paperwork for appointments including CDL's and HIPAA forms. Address basic account questions from patients and enter personal payments onto the daily payment log. 7. Provide clear messages to medical staff, from phone calls and walk-ins, in regard to patient requests. 8. Assist with extra duties as requested by Office manager/Supervisor.
