Job Description
Overview Join our dynamic veterinary team as a Veterinary Receptionist and become the friendly, organized face of our animal care facility! In this vital role, you will serve as the first point of contact for pet owners and visitors, ensuring a smooth and welcoming experience. Your energetic approach will help coordinate appointments, manage client communications, and support veterinary staff with essential administrative tasks. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to be part of a passionate team dedicated to animal health and well-being. Duties Greet clients and visitors warmly, providing excellent customer service and guiding them through check-in and check-out processes Schedule appointments efficiently, managing the clinic's calendar to optimize patient care flow Handle medical collections accurately, processing payments and insurance claims with attention to detail Maintain organized client records, updating pet information and veterinary notes in compliance with confidentiality standards Assist with laboratory tasks such as sample labeling and basic processing under veterinary supervision Support kennel operations by coordinating pet boarding and ensuring proper animal husbandry practices are followed Communicate effectively with veterinary staff regarding patient status, treatment plans, and follow-up needs Requirements Prior experience in veterinary clinics or animal care settings is highly desirable, including kennel experience or pet grooming skills Knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal anatomy, restraint techniques, and aseptic procedures is preferred Familiarity with laboratory procedures, medical collection techniques, and veterinary critical care practices will be advantageous Strong animal handling skills across various species such as dogs, cats, and horses; including dog training and pet care expertise Ability to perform animal catheterization, administer basic pet grooming tasks, and understand animal restraint protocols Excellent communication skills to explain procedures clearly to clients and team members Demonstrated ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail This role is perfect for motivated individuals passionate about animal welfare who thrive in energetic environments.
