Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated Kennel Technician/Receptionist to join our pet care team. This role combines animal care responsibilities with front-desk customer service duties, providing a vital link between our clients and their beloved pets. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animal welfare, excellent communication skills, and the ability to handle animals with care and professionalism. This position offers an engaging environment where you can make a positive impact on pets and their owners daily. Duties Provide compassionate care for animals, including feeding, cleaning, and administering medications as directed Handle animals safely using proper restraint techniques and animal handling skills Assist with dog training, pet grooming, and pet sitting services as needed Maintain cleanliness of kennels, treatment areas, and common spaces to ensure a safe environment Greet clients at the front desk, schedule appointments, and manage check-ins/check-outs efficiently Answer phone calls, respond to client inquiries, and provide excellent customer service Assist veterinary staff with basic procedures and animal restraint during examinations or treatments Perform heavy lifting when necessary to move supplies or assist with large animals or equipment Experience Prior veterinary technician or assistant experience preferred Dog handling and training experience highly desirable Pet grooming or pet sitting background is a plus Kennel experience or animal care background is beneficial Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and work in physically demanding environments Familiarity with animal restraint techniques and general animal handling skills is essential This role requires a compassionate individual committed to animal welfare and excellent client service. Candidates should be adaptable, attentive to detail, and capable of working in a fast-paced setting while maintaining a professional demeanor.
