Front Desk Coordinator - Urology The Specialty Alliance - 2.4 Opelousas, LA Job Details Full-time 1 day ago Qualifications Computer operation Electronic health records (EHR) management High school diploma or GED Desktop applications Computer skills Managing patient records Medical terminology Full Job Description Responsibilities include: Front line for answering phones and correctly routing incoming calls and greeting patients professionally and correctly checking in patients and marking them arrived Entering patient information into the EMR Scanning and faxing duties Verifying Insurance information, scanning cards and ID's into EMR Completing general clerical tasks Scheduling appointments Collecting over-the-counter payments for patients (co-pays/deductibles, paying attention to account credit balances and not over collecting) May work referrals, medical records and enter new patient packets (medical info to be entered by the MA or Nurse) May be asked to assist clinical team with running urines, turning over rooms or office cleaning
Required Work Experience:
Medical office experience (minimum 2 years) preferred
Required Skills:
Must have excellent communication and personal interaction skills Adept with computer systems, particularly electronic medical record software Knowledge of medical terminology and general medical practice operations Ability to work independently when required / appropriate Skills/Abilities 1. Self-starter with the ability to complete daily tasks with minimal supervision. 2. Skill in communicating effectively with patients or providers about scheduling preferences. 3. Ability to multitask effectively, dealing with phone calls, in-office patients, staff, and others in a pleasant manner along with multiple tasks/projects. 4. Ability to analyze situations and respond appropriately. 5. Ability to use a multi-line phone system, including transferring calls. 6. Ability to speak clearly and concisely to be heard by callers and patients. 7. Excellent organizational and time management skills. 8. Superior interpersonal and problem-solving skills to ensure coordinated efforts and patient satisfaction. 9. Always maintain a professional and positive attitude. 10. Common computer skills. 11. Demonstrate teamwork and support for fellow care team members; can be flexible when necessary.
Education:
High school diploma or GED (required) Associates or Bachelor's Degree (preferred)
Experience:
Two-three years of medical office experience. Previous experience of a fast-paced, high patient volume doctors office.
