Job Description

Brightwork Dental Care is an independent dental practice with locations in Brunswick and Bath, Maine. Our offices share the same standard: unhurried appointments, attentive care, and a team that takes pride in what they do. We're looking for a front office receptionist who is organized, genuinely warm, and comfortable being the first voice a patient hears — and the last face they see on their way out. About the Role As the patient's first point of contact, you'll set the tone for every visit. You'll manage the front desk independently, handle scheduling and patient communication, and keep daily operations running smoothly. Responsibilities Welcome and check in patients; maintain a calm, welcoming front desk Schedule, confirm, and manage appointments for both locations Answer phones and respond to patient inquiries with care and accuracy Collect and post payments; perform end-of-day reconciliation Maintain and update electronic patient records in our practice management software Manage recall outreach and reactivation of lapsed patients Coordinate with the clinical team on scheduling and patient flow Handle incoming and outgoing correspondence, referrals, and records requests What We're Looking For Strong interpersonal skills — warm, professional, and patient-focused Reliable and detail-oriented, comfortable managing competing priorities Experience in a dental or medical front office is a plus, but we will train the right candidate Comfortable with payment collection and basic financial reconciliation Clear, confident phone manner Discretion and professionalism with patient health information (HIPAA) Team-oriented with a self-starter's initiative What We Offer Competitive pay commensurate with experience Health insurance and paid time off for eligible full-time employees Supportive team culture in an independent practice where your contributions are seen and your voice matters
Pay:
$25.13 - $30.27 per hour Expected hours: 30.0 - 34.0 per week
