Job Description

Lane Animal Hospital is currently searching to expand our team of Client Service Specialists to help our medical, boarding, and grooming teams with their patients. Our client service specialists are one of the keys to our client-patient focus, working side by side with the medical team to ensure both clients and patients needs are being met and clear communication is happening on both sides. Compensation offered will be based on experience and education candidate possesses. What we offer to our employees:

We have a team of dedicated doctors on staff who work together as a team along with our stellar support group of receptionists, VA's, LVT's and managers, as well as a groomer and boarding team.
  • Our hospital has been around a long time, but our team prides itself on being up to date with the latest and best medical standards and equipment.
We have digital x-ray (including dental x-ray), as well as a brand new ultrasound. We also partner with several specialists on a routine basis for our patients including a board-certified internist, surgeon, and a rehabilitation doctor as well who includes cold therapy laser in their practice. Most of our medical team (as well as some of our boarding staff and groomer) are Fear Free certified and/or Cat Friendly certified.
  • A collaborative team that is open to new ideas and learning, one that practices respect for each other. Our culture and communication amongst our team is vital not only to our success as a practice, but the wellbeing of our team as a whole.
  • We stay up to date with the times of technology also- utilizing practice management software (we just transitioned to EzyVet) and an app to help us better communicate with clients (Vello).

    Scheduling:
    Most of our Full-Time staff work 4 days a week, occasionally 5 depending on monthly staff meeting weeks and Saturdays. Saturdays are required for Full-Time employees and are rotating, every other. Our Part-Time staffs hours and typical shifts are discussed during the interview process (some of our staff work as few as 1-2 shifts a week, some work almost Full-Time but have other obligations with kids, school, etc). We are closed most major holidays as well! We are open Monday 7am-5pm, Tuesday-Thursday 7am-7pm, Fridays 7am-5pm, and Saturdays 7am-1pm. What are looking for in a candidate:
    • High School graduate or equivalent (required).
    • Experience in a client service role, ideally office reception work (minimum of 3 years required).
    • Experience within the veterinary field and familiarity with veterinary terminology (STRONGLY
    PERFERRED
    ).
    • Professional, friendly, energetic, and trustworthy.
    • Share our commitment to delivering the highest quality patient care with exceptional client service.
    • Desire to learn and become knowledgeable with veterinary medical terminology, diagnostic testing, as well as phone triage with the assistance of DVMs and LVTs.
    • Strong interpersonal skills: able to communicate effectively with clients, doctors, management, hospital personnel, specialists, consulting professionals and clients.
    • Strong organizational/time management skills: able to set, prioritize and attain goals with attention to detail while maintaining composure in a fast-paced environment. Our reception team is responsible for face to face communication, phone and text communication, as well as email with our clients.
    • Strong professional development skills: able to complete continue education in the field of veterinary medicine concurrently with job description.
    • Strong sense of integrity: able to maintain highest ethical standards, personal responsibility and accountability and confidentiality of clients, doctors, and all staff.
    • Strong analytical thinking skills: ability to use objective data to solve problems/create solutions.
    • Understanding all aspects of preventative medicine including examination, laboratory testing, vaccinations, and disease complexes.
    • Ability to multi-task and work under pressure while maintaining composure. What does the role look like with general duties:
    • Greeting and assisting clients who come into the building, answering phone calls, and responding to email and text message inquiries.
    • Scheduling appointments, setting up new client and patient info; understanding the flow of the hospital and monitoring the schedule for adjustments that may need to be made.
    • Processing medication requests and doctor messages left by clients, assisting in filling medications and taking payments.
    • General cleaning of the lobby and reception area, as well as exam rooms on occasion.
