Job Description

Alliance Urgent Care is seeking a professional, dependable, and patient-focused Front Desk Receptionist to join our growing urgent care team in Pontiac, Michigan. Bilingual Spanish-speaking candidates are strongly encouraged to apply. Position Summary The Front Desk Receptionist is the first point of contact for our patients and plays an important role in creating a welcoming, professional, and efficient patient experience. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and customer service skills, be comfortable working in a fast-paced healthcare environment, and be able to multitask while maintaining accuracy and professionalism. Key Responsibilities Greet patients and visitors in a friendly, professional manner. Check patients in and out efficiently and accurately. Verify patient demographics, insurance information, and identification. Register new patients and update existing patient information. Answer and direct incoming phone calls. Schedule and manage patient appointments when applicable. Collect copayments, deductibles, and other patient balances as required. Provide patients with appropriate paperwork and registration forms. Maintain accurate and complete patient records within the electronic medical record (EMR) system. Communicate professionally with providers, medical assistants, and other staff members. Assist with referrals, medical records, and other front-office administrative tasks. Maintain patient confidentiality and follow HIPAA requirements at all times. Keep the reception and waiting areas organized, clean, and professional. Handle patient questions and concerns with professionalism and appropriate escalation when necessary. Assist with daily opening and closing procedures. Support the clinical team and other administrative duties as needed. Qualifications Previous medical office, urgent care, physician office, or healthcare front-desk experience preferred. Bilingual English/Spanish strongly preferred. 1 Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong customer service and interpersonal skills. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Comfortable using computers and electronic medical record (EMR) systems. Ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities. Professional appearance and demeanor. Must be dependable, punctual, and able to work a full-time schedule. Knowledge of HIPAA and patient confidentiality is preferred. Ideal Candidate We are looking for someone who is friendly, reliable, compassionate, organized, and professional, with a genuine desire to help patients. The successful candidate should be comfortable interacting with patients from diverse backgrounds and working collaboratively with the entire urgent care team. Schedule Full-Time 5 days per week Schedule to be determined based on clinic needs Urgent Care environment - flexibility is important Compensation $17.00-$21.00 per hour, depending on experience, qualifications, and healthcare/medical front-desk experience.
