Job Description

Once a part of Kenrick-Glennon Seminary's campus, the Cardinal Rigali Center in Shrewsbury, MO is today the headquarters and curia (governing body) for the Archdiocese of St. Louis.
Job Summary The Parish Office Evening Assistant provides administrative and hospitality support during evening parish office hours. This position serves as a welcoming presence for parishioners, visitors, and guests while assisting with routine office tasks and ensuring the Parish Center is secure at the end of each shift. The Evening Assistant works closely with the Business Manager and supports the needs of all parish office staff.
Job Responsibilities Answer incoming telephone calls and direct calls to voicemail as appropriate during evening hours. Welcome and assist parishioners, visitors, and guests with general requests, including key pick-up and drop-off and delivery or collection of documents and paperwork. Shred confidential and sensitive information according to parish procedures. Prepare bank bags for weekly Mass collections. Assemble meeting packets and other materials for parish meetings and events. Make copies of Worship Aids and other parish materials as assigned. Assist with mailings, including the Annual Contribution Statements. Provide general administrative and clerical support to parish office staff as assigned by daytime staff. At the conclusion of each shift, ensure the Parish Center administrative office and front door are properly locked and secured. Perform other duties as assigned in support of the parish office and its ministries. Job Requirements Friendly, welcoming, and service-oriented manner consistent with the mission and values of the Catholic Church. Dependable and punctual, with the ability to work independently during evening hours. Strong attention to detail and ability to handle confidential information appropriately. Basic computer, telephone, copying, and general office skills. Ability to communicate respectfully and professionally with parishioners, visitors, clergy, staff, and volunteers. Ability to follow established parish procedures, including those related to security and confidential materials. Work Schedule This is a part-time hourly position scheduled for Monday and Wednesday evenings from 4:00-7:00 p.m. The Parish Office Evening Assistant reports to the Business Manager and provides support to all parish office staff.
