Job Description

Leadership & Team Support Lead the front desk team by demonstrating professionalism, accountability, integrity, and a positive attitude. Serve as a trusted member of the Salon Manager's support team by helping implement operational goals and reinforce salon policies and procedures. Partner with the Salon Manager to maintain front desk performance, team accountability, and exceptional guest service standards. Assist with onboarding, training, coaching, and mentoring front desk team members. Provide ongoing support, encouragement, and guidance while fostering teamwork and a positive workplace culture. Help communicate leadership expectations and ensure consistency in daily operations. Anticipate operational needs and proactively identify opportunities to improve efficiency, guest satisfaction, and team performance. Assist with leadership initiatives, special projects, and process improvements as assigned. Serve as the acting front desk leader when the Salon Manager or Owner is unavailable. Make routine operational decisions that align with company policies, procedures, and salon values. Escalate significant operational, personnel, financial, or guest concerns to the Salon Manager or Owner when appropriate. Administrative Responsibilities Maintain accurate guest records through timely and accurate data entry. Complete daily administrative tasks, reports, deposits, and required documentation. Support communication between the Owner, Salon Manager, service providers, and front desk team. Assist with organizing salon systems, operational processes, and office procedures. Maintain confidentiality of guest, employee, and company information. Assist leadership with additional administrative projects as needed. Marketing & Promotions Assist the Salon Manager and Owner with planning and executing salon marketing initiatives. Coordinate in-salon promotions, guest referral programs, retail campaigns, seasonal events, and community outreach opportunities. Help develop, organize, and promote employee contests and incentive programs that encourage team engagement, retail growth, and service upgrades. Assist with organizing social media content, promotional materials, and marketing projects. Ensure promotional displays, signage, and retail merchandising remain current and professionally presented. Help identify opportunities to increase guest retention, retail sales, and overall salon growth. Inventory & Salon Operations Monitor inventory levels for retail products, backbar supplies, office materials, beverages, and salon essentials. Assist with ordering products and supplies under the direction of the Salon Manager or Owner. Maintain attractive retail displays and merchandising standards. Ensure the salon remains clean, organized, fully stocked, and guest-ready at all times. Perform routine salon opening and closing responsibilities. Communicate maintenance needs, equipment concerns, or operational issues promptly to leadership. Help maintain a safe, professional, and organized salon environment. Qualifications Excellent customer service and interpersonal communication skills. Strong leadership, organizational, and multitasking abilities. Ability to make sound decisions independently while recognizing when leadership input is needed. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Dependable, trustworthy, professional, and able to maintain confidentiality. Previous salon, spa, hospitality, retail, or customer service experience preferred. Previous leadership or supervisory experience preferred. Comfortable using salon software, scheduling systems, point-of-sale software, Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and other basic computer applications. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. Flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and special events as needed. What Success Looks Like Every guest receives exceptional, consistent service from arrival through checkout. The front desk operates efficiently, professionally, and confidently each day. The Salon Manager and Owner can rely on the Front Desk Lead as a dependable leadership partner who helps keep daily operations organized and running smoothly. Administrative responsibilities are completed accurately and on time. Marketing initiatives, promotions, and employee incentive programs are successfully implemented. Inventory is well-managed, organized, and consistently maintained. The salon remains clean, welcoming, fully stocked, and professionally presented. Front desk team members feel supported, informed, and accountable while maintaining a positive work environment. Leadership can confidently delegate responsibilities knowing salon standards and company values will be upheld. Operational challenges are addressed promptly, professionally, and with sound judgment. On-Call Leadership Expectations The Front Desk Lead may be scheduled for designated on-call periods outside of regular working hours to provide operational guidance and support when the Salon Manager or Owner is unavailable. During assigned on-call periods, responsibilities may include: Answering operational questions from front desk team members. Assisting with guest service concerns requiring leadership guidance. Providing support with scheduling or staffing questions. Making routine operational decisions consistent with salon policies and established procedures. Communicating urgent operational matters to the Salon Manager or Owner when necessary. This role is not expected to respond to emergencies beyond the normal scope of salon operations but should remain reasonably available by phone during assigned on-call periods. Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout the salon for extended periods. Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds. Ability to operate office equipment, computers, and point-of-sale systems. Ability to perform repetitive tasks such as typing, filing, and handling retail merchandise.
