About Us The Community Care Clinic of Franklin is a nonprofit, free and charitable healthcare clinic dedicated to providing compassionate, high-quality medical care to uninsured and underserved adults in Macon County and the surrounding communities. Our mission is to improve access to healthcare while treating every patient with dignity, respect, and compassion. We are seeking a friendly, compassionate, and bilingual professional to serve as the first point of contact for our patients while also providing Spanish interpretation during medical visits. Position Summary The Bilingual Front Desk Receptionist/Medical Interpreter plays a vital role in creating a welcoming environment for patients and ensuring effective communication between patients and healthcare providers. This position is responsible for front office operations, patient scheduling, registration, phone communication, and accurate interpretation between English and Spanish during medical appointments and other patient interactions. The ideal candidate is organized, compassionate, culturally sensitive, and committed to providing exceptional customer service in a mission-driven healthcare environment. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Front Desk Responsibilities Welcome patients and visitors with professionalism and compassion. Answer incoming phone calls and assist patients in English and Spanish. Schedule, reschedule, and confirm patient appointments. Register new patients and update demographic and insurance information as applicable. Verify patient information and maintain accurate electronic medical records. Scan, file, and maintain patient documentation. Assist patients with forms and clinic paperwork. Manage incoming mail, faxes, and other administrative tasks. Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming reception area. Medical Interpretation Responsibilities Provide accurate, complete, and impartial interpretation between English and Spanish during patient visits. Interpret conversations between providers, nurses, medical assistants, behavioral health staff, and patients. Assist patients with understanding medical instructions, treatment plans, medications, referrals, and follow-up appointments. Translate basic written patient materials when appropriate. Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations. Serve as a cultural liaison to promote effective communication and patient understanding. Additional Responsibilitie s Assist clinical staff with patient flow as needed. Coordinate communication between patients and clinic departments. Participate in community outreach events when appropriate. Support other administrative duties as assigned. Qualifications Required High school diploma or equivalent. Fluency in both English and Spanish (speaking, reading, and writing). Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong customer service and interpersonal skills. Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office. Ability to multitask in a fast-paced healthcare environment. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality. Preferred Previous medical office, receptionist, or healthcare experience. Previous experience providing medical interpretation. Knowledge of medical terminology in both English and Spanish. Experience with electronic medical records (EMR). Interpreter certification (preferred but not required). Why Join Our Team?
