Job Description

Position Summary The Check-Out Receptionist is responsible for providing a positive closing experience for patients and families. This role ensures accurate scheduling, collection of payments, and clear communication regarding follow-up care while maintaining excellent customer service. Key Responsibilities Greet patients and families at check-out in a friendly, professional manner Schedule follow-up appointments, referrals, and procedures as directed by providers Collect co-pays, balances, and payments; provide receipts and explain charges when needed Verify patient demographics and insurance information at check-out Provide patients with visit summaries, school/work notes, and instructions as applicable Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR) Communicate effectively with clinical staff, billing, and front desk team Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations Keep check-out area organized and professional Assist with front desk coverage and other administrative duties as needed Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required Previous medical office or customer service experience preferred Knowledge of insurance co-pays, referrals, and basic billing processes preferred Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment Attention to detail and accuracy Professional appearance and positive attitude Skills & Competencies Excellent customer service skills Strong organizational and time-management abilities Basic computer skills and EMR experience preferred Ability to handle sensitive information discreetly Team-oriented with a willingness to help where needed
Pay:
$15.00 - $16.50 per hour
