Front Desk Receptionist - Private Dental OfficeJob Summary We are a privately owned dental office seeking a reliable, professional, and friendly Front Desk Receptionist to join our team. This is a very patient-focused position. A large part of the role involves answering phones, calling patients, scheduling and rescheduling appointments, filling openings in the schedule, responding to patient questions, and making sure every patient receives excellent customer service. We are looking for someone who is comfortable communicating with patients throughout the day and who understands the importance of professionalism, confidentiality, accuracy, and follow-through in a healthcare setting. Previous experience in a dental office, medical office, or other patient-care environment is strongly preferred. We are willing to train the right candidate on our specific systems and office procedures. Duties Answer incoming patient calls promptly and professionally. Make outgoing calls to patients regarding appointments, recalls, scheduling, and follow-up. Schedule, confirm, cancel, and reschedule patient appointments. Actively help fill openings and cancellations in the daily schedule. Communicate appointment information clearly and accurately to patients. Respond to patient questions by phone, text, and email in a professional and courteous manner. Greet patients warmly when they arrive and provide excellent customer service throughout their visit. Collect and accurately enter patient information into the practice management system. Send forms, appointment information, records, and other requested information to patients when appropriate. Maintain patient confidentiality and follow HIPAA requirements at all times. Document patient communications accurately in the patient's account. Assist with basic front-office administrative duties as needed. Work closely with the doctor and clinical team to keep the schedule organized and the office running efficiently. Handle difficult or frustrated patients professionally and know when to escalate an issue to management. Requirements Previous experience working with patients in a dental office, medical office, or healthcare setting is strongly preferred . Strong customer service and communication skills. Comfortable spending a significant portion of the day speaking with patients by phone. Excellent phone etiquette and a friendly, confident personality. Understanding of patient privacy and HIPAA requirements. Dependable, punctual, and reliable attendance is extremely important. Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask in a busy office. Ability to communicate professionally by phone, text, and email. Comfortable working with computers, scheduling software, and electronic patient records. Attention to detail when entering patient information and documenting communications. Ability to remain professional and positive when dealing with difficult situations. Team-oriented and willing to help wherever needed. Bilingual ability is a plus but not required. What We Are Looking For We are looking for someone who genuinely enjoys helping people and understands that the front desk sets the tone for the entire patient experience. The right candidate should be dependable, organized, proactive, comfortable on the phone, and able to provide excellent customer service while managing a busy patient schedule. We are happy to train the right person on our office systems and specific procedures, but we are looking for someone who already understands how to communicate professionally with patients and takes reliability and patient care seriously.
Pay:
$20.00 - $23.00 per hour Expected hours: 35.0 - 40.0 per week
