Raleigh Neurosurgical and Spine Surgery Center is seeking a full-time Front Office Receptionist / Patient Satisfaction Champion to serve as the welcoming first point of contact for our patients, visitors, physicians, and healthcare partners. Raleigh Neurosurgical and Spine Surgery Center is an independent, AAAHC-accredited and Medicare-certified ambulatory surgery center owned and managed by Raleigh Neurosurgical Clinic and its surgeons. Located in the heart of Raleigh, our 8,300-square-foot facility includes one operating room, two procedure rooms, centralized sterile processing, pre-op/PACU, and a collaborative business and clinical operations team. Since opening, our center has completed more than 3,000 cases and continues to expand both procedural complexity and advanced technology offerings. Our physicians are recognized throughout North Carolina for excellence in neuro-spine and pain management care, drawing patients from across the state. Your Role as Front Office Receptionist / Patient Satisfaction Champion We are seeking a dependable, professional, and compassionate individual to support the daily operations of our front office. This position plays an essential role in creating a welcoming, organized, and efficient environment from the moment a patient or visitor enters the facility. In addition to receptionist responsibilities, this individual will serve as the center's Patient Satisfaction Champion. This role helps promote a patient-centered culture, monitors patient feedback, and supports efforts to continuously improve the overall patient experience. This is a full-time, weekday position with no weekends, holidays, nights, or on-call requirements. What You'll Do Welcome patients, family members, visitors, physicians, vendors, and other guests in a professional and courteous manner. Answer and manage incoming telephone calls, take accurate messages, and route calls appropriately. Check in surgical and procedure patients and verify required registration information. Obtain and copy patient identification and insurance documentation. Notify the appropriate clinical staff when patients arrive and support timely patient flow. Collect patient responsibility payments as determined by the Insurance Verifier. Provide patients and responsible adults with appropriate facility information and updates while maintaining patient privacy. Assist with patient admissions, chart preparation, and other front-office documentation. Distribute incoming mail and packages and maintain office and postage supplies. Maintain an organized, professional, and welcoming reception and waiting area. Protect confidential patient and business information in accordance with HIPAA and facility policies. Provide backup support for admitting, scheduling, insurance verification, and other business-office functions as assigned. Participate in cross-training and assist other members of the business office based on operational needs. Patient Satisfaction Champion Responsibilities Serve as a visible advocate for an exceptional patient and family experience. Promote courteous, compassionate, and professional communication throughout the facility. Monitor patient satisfaction survey participation and help encourage patients to provide feedback. Review and organize patient feedback, including compliments, concerns, and opportunities for improvement. Assist leadership with identifying trends in patient satisfaction results. Communicate patient concerns promptly to the appropriate member of leadership. Support service-recovery efforts when patients or families express concerns. Help develop and implement initiatives intended to improve patient satisfaction and survey response rates. Share relevant patient feedback with staff and reinforce patient-experience expectations. Participate in quality-improvement activities related to patient satisfaction and the overall patient experience.
