This vital role combines front desk responsibilities with clinical support, ensuring smooth operations and exceptional patient experiences. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment, demonstrating excellent communication skills, technical proficiency, and a strong understanding of medical administrative procedures. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to quality patient care while developing your expertise in medical office management and electronic health records (EHR) systems. Responsibilities Greet patients warmly, verify their information, and assist with check-in/check-out processes using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, or eClinicalWorks Schedule appointments accurately and efficiently, managing calendars and coordinating follow-up visits Collect and process payments, insurance claims, and perform medical billing using knowledge of health insurance policies including Medicare and HIPAA compliance standards Review and update patient records, ensuring documentation review aligns with clinical confidentiality policies and medical terminology standards Handle phone communications with professionalism, providing excellent patient service and answering inquiries related to appointments, billing, or insurance coverage Maintain organized medical records, files, and electronic health records (EHR) management systems while adhering to HIPAA regulations Support clinical staff by assisting with care Requirements Experience as a Medical Receptionist/Assistant or in a similar medical office role with clinic experience preferred Proficiency in EMR/EHR systems Strong knowledge of medical billing and health insurance preferred Excellent computer skills Exceptional customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively via phone etiquette and maintain professional demeanor under pressure Ability to handle clerical tasks such as filing, data entry, appointment scheduling, and maintaining accurate medical records Knowledge of clinical confidentiality policies and healthcare regulations such as HIPAA is required Previous experience working in a healthcare settings is a plus Small Podiatrist's (Foot Doctor) office looking for an experienced Medical Assistant.
  • Checking patients in/out using Electronic Health Record, computer skills are a must

  • Communicating with other Doctors' offices
  • Answering phone calls and returning patient's messages
  • Scheduling appointments
  • Filling out all required paperwork
  • Keeping office and work area clean and organized
  • Computer Experience
  • Medical and Healthcare insurance knowledge preferred.
  • Applicants will be required to pass a certified Podiatric X-ray exam
  • Applicant needs to be friendly and have excellent customer service skills.
Days needed are:
Monday 8:30-5 Tuesdays 8:30-5 Wednesdays 8:30-5 Thursdays 8:30-5 Fridays 8:30-12 Weekends off. Full time 30-35 hours a week Paid vacations and holidays after 90 days of employment Life insurance after 90 days of employment. Unfortunately we are a small office so no health insurance is available.
