Job Description

We are launching a state-of-the-art oral and maxillofacial surgery practice in Lumberton, NJ and are seeking dedicated professionals to join us as we build a high-performing, patient-focused team. We are looking for a front desk receptionist to be the first point of contact for our patients. This is a ground-floor opportunity to be part of a new practice where your input will directly influence workflow, team culture, and the overall patient journey. We are looking for individuals who are proactive, dependable, and take genuine pride in their work. If you value teamwork, thrive in an office setting, and enjoy helping patients feel informed and at ease, we encourage you to apply. About the Role As our Front Desk Receptionist, you'll be the hub of the practice—welcoming patients, coordinating the schedule, and keeping the front office running smoothly. You will work closely with the surgeon and clinical team to ensure every patient has a seamless experience from referral to post-op follow-up.
Key responsibilities:
Greet patients warmly, check them in and out, and maintain a calm, professional atmosphere in the reception area. Answer phones, manage messages, and schedule new patient, consult, and surgery appointments. Coordinate referral intake, obtain records, and help keep surgical and consult schedules organized. Verify dental and medical insurance, collect co-pays and fees, and post payments accurately in the practice management software. Maintain accurate, up-to-date patient information and documentation in the practice management system. Monitor patient flow, communicate wait times, and support a smooth handoff between front desk and clinical staff. Keep the front desk, waiting room, and patient restrooms neat, organized, and aligned with our modern, specialty look. What We're Looking For Prior dental or medical front desk experience is strongly preferred; oral surgery or specialty experience is a plus. Comfort with scheduling, insurance verification, and collecting payments in a fast-paced clinical environment. Strong communication skills, professional phone etiquette, and a friendly, confident demeanor with patients and referring offices. High attention to detail, reliability, and the ability to learn new systems and workflows in a startup setting. Familiarity with dental practice management software (DSN) is preferred but not required. We value someone who takes pride in their work, enjoys being part of a collaborative team, and cares deeply about creating an exceptional experience for every patient and family.
