Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Veterinary Receptionist to join our team in a part-time (15-30hr/week) position. Candidate must have flexibility to be self-motivated to work independently or to work collaboratively as needed. As a Veterinary Receptionist, you will be the first point of contact for clients and will play a critical role in providing exceptional customer service and ensuring the smooth operation of our veterinary clinic. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animal care, strong communication skills, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. Animal Hospital experience is preferred, but we can provide training to the right applicant. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Greet clients and their pets upon arrival, ensuring a welcoming atmosphere Manage appointment and surgical scheduling using our practice management software Answer phone calls, e-mails, and texts with professionalism Pet owner education and promotion of online pharmacy, recommend vaccinations, preventative care, etc Complete financial transactions including cash and credit card processing and drawer reconciliation Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of client interactions with strong attention to detail and accuracy Provide and review client-facing documents—including estimates, consent forms, and prescriptions—ensuring clarity and accuracy, and upload all supporting materials to the pet's record in a timely and organized manner. Compassionately assist with euthanasia-related workflow, including reviewing consent forms with clients and processing payments Collaborate with veterinarians to provide exceptional patient care and ensure seamless communication between clients and veterinary professionals. Responsible for keeping the reception area and public restrooms clean and organized, including tasks such as light sweeping, mopping, window washing, facility disinfection, and disposal of trash and recycling, etc Assists with light snow removal from sidewalks during winter months to maintain safe access to the building
