This position will support both our Camillus and Fayetteville offices, with a regular schedule of 3 days in Camillus and 2 days in Fayetteville. For more than 40 years, Asthma & Allergy Associates has proudly served patients throughout Central New York, the Finger Lakes, and the Southern Tier. The ideal candidate will be reliable, detail-oriented, organized, and professional, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. As the first point of contact for many of our patients, this individual will greet patients, provide exceptional customer service, and efficiently manage front office responsibilities in a fast paced medical environment. Key Responsibilities Greet patients and provide a welcoming, professional first impression Schedule and coordinate patient appointments Answer incoming calls using a multi-line phone system Demonstrate strong computer proficiency and accurately enter patient information Create nurse call triage messages Manage electronic faxing and related correspondence Perform medical office clerical and administrative duties Assist with medical records management and office procedures Maintain accuracy, organization, and confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA requirements Multitask effectively while maintaining excellent patient service Communicate professionally with patients, providers, nurses, and other staff members Travel between the Camillus and Fayetteville offices as scheduled
Training & Schedule:
Because the Camillus office is a new location and not open currently, the selected candidate will complete initial training at our Fayetteville and Cortland offices. Training will provide an opportunity to become familiar with our clerical procedures before transitioning to the new Camillus location. Once the Camillus office is operational, the position will be based in Camillus three days per week, and either two days in our Fayetteville or Cortland office. Qualifications Previous medical administrative or medical office support experience preferred Strong computer skills and ability to learn new software systems Excellent patient service and communication skills Familiarity with medical terminology and HIPAA regulations Experience with multi-line phone systems Strong organizational and clerical skills Knowledge of medical records management and general office procedures Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast paced environment Professional appearance and attitude Dependable and flexible with the ability to work at both office locations Join Our Growing Team This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a long established private medical practice while helping launch and grow our new Camillus office.
