Job Description
Description Huntington, NY Part-Time At The Lodge at West Hills Animal Hospital & Emergency Center , we provide a safe, comfortable, and enriching home away from home for our boarding and daycare guests. We're looking for a friendly, organized, and dependable Doggie Day Care Receptionist to be the welcoming face of our Lodge while delivering exceptional service to our pet parents. If you enjoy working with both people and pets in a fast-paced environment, we'd love to meet you! As our Doggie Day Care Receptionist, you'll help create a seamless experience for boarding and daycare guests while supporting the daily operations of The Lodge. Some of the responsibilities you will own in this role: Welcome clients and provide exceptional customer service during check-in and check-out. Answer incoming phone calls, respond to inquiries, and take accurate messages. Schedule boarding reservations and veterinary appointments. Collect holiday boarding deposits and process payments. Enter and verify vaccination records, following up with pet owners to ensure boarding requirements are met. Conduct tours of The Lodge for prospective clients. Assist pet owners with questions regarding boarding and daycare services. Safely handle dogs and cats of all sizes during check-in and check-out. Balance the cash drawer and assist with opening and closing procedures, including securing the building. Maintain accurate records and provide administrative support to The Lodge team. Perform other duties as assigned to support The Lodge and hospital operations. Preferred Qualifications Previous receptionist, customer service, or administrative experience preferred. Experience working in a veterinary hospital, boarding facility, kennel, daycare, or pet care environment is a plus. Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a warm, professional demeanor. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask in a busy environment. Comfortable handling dogs and cats of various sizes, breeds, and temperaments. Strong attention to detail and accuracy when entering information and scheduling appointments. Basic computer proficiency and confidence learning new software. Ability to work collaboratively with a team while providing outstanding client service.
