Job Description
Position Overview Acampora Salon & Barbershop is looking for a friendly, organized, and dependable Receptionist / Guest Services team member to help create an exceptional experience for our clients from the moment they contact us until the moment they leave. With the launch of our new online booking system, the front desk plays an important role in helping clients navigate appointments, maintaining an organized and productive schedule, and handling booking situations that require a personal touch. This position is ideal for someone who is comfortable with technology, communicates well, can multitask in a busy salon environment, and genuinely enjoys helping people. Key Responsibilities Welcome clients and create a friendly, professional experience at the front desk. Answer incoming phone calls and assist clients with appointments, services, pricing, stylist availability, and general questions. Help clients understand and use our online booking system when appropriate. Assist clients who cannot find their preferred stylist or service through online booking. Schedule, reschedule, and cancel appointments accurately. Monitor the appointment book throughout the day for cancellations, openings, scheduling conflicts, and opportunities to improve the schedule. Maintain and work cancellation/wait lists to help fill last-minute openings. Confirm that appointments are booked for the correct service, timing, and team member. Help match new clients with an appropriate stylist or barber based on their hair, desired service, preferences, and availability. Communicate with stylists and barbers regarding appointment changes, late clients, consultations, and scheduling concerns. Check clients in and out efficiently and accurately. Process payments, gift cards, retail purchases, and other front-desk transactions. Encourage clients to pre-book their next appointment before leaving when appropriate. Educate clients about online booking for future appointments. Assist with retail product questions and promotions. Maintain accurate client information and appointment notes in our salon software. Keep the reception, waiting, and retail areas clean, organized, and presentable. Help resolve client concerns professionally and involve management when necessary. Support the salon team with other front-desk and guest-service responsibilities as needed. Online Booking & Schedule Management As we expand online booking, this position will be responsible for helping ensure that technology and personal service work together. The receptionist should actively monitor the schedule rather than simply wait for phone calls. This includes identifying openings, helping fill cancellations, correcting booking issues, assisting clients who need help selecting a service or stylist, and making sure online appointments are properly scheduled. Our goal is to make booking easier for our clients while maintaining the personal service and attention that sets Acampora Salon & Barbershop apart. What We're Looking For Friendly, welcoming, and professional personality Strong communication and customer-service skills Dependable and punctual Comfortable using computers, tablets, and booking software Ability to multitask in a busy environment Strong attention to detail Organized and able to manage multiple appointments and requests at once Comfortable speaking with clients both in person and over the phone Able to remain calm and professional when handling scheduling problems or client concerns Team-oriented and willing to help wherever needed Previous salon, spa, hospitality, retail, or receptionist experience is a plus, but we are willing to train the right person. What Success Looks Like A successful front-desk team member helps keep the salon running smoothly, makes clients feel welcomed and cared for, keeps the appointment book organized and productive, and makes it easy for clients to connect with the right stylist or barber. At Acampora Salon & Barbershop, the front desk isn't just where clients check in — it's an important part of the overall client experience.
