Job Description
Job Summary Cochran & Associates is seeking a seasonal front desk associate to join our team for the upcoming 2027 tax season (mid-January - mid-April). In this role you can expect to assist largely with the administrative functions of the office as well as managing clients in the front office lobby. Previous experience in an office environment is preferred but not required. The ideal candidate is someone who communicates clearly and concisely with clients on the telephone or at the front desk, demonstrates attention to detail, possesses organizational skills, and considers themselves an outgoing individual. Duties
- Greeting and welcoming clients into the office
- Answer telephone calls and basic questions about the business
- Organize & set up control sheets for individual and business tax clients
- Accept cash and check payments for services and issue receipts to clients
- Use credit card processor to accept payments by clients at the front desk or via telephone
- Process tax returns which includes and is not limited to stapling the tax return folder together, applying mailing labels to envelopes for client tax vouchers, paper clipping instructions & envelopes for each voucher, compiling client documents and tax return into one final deliverable, etc.
- Schedule appointments based on CPA's availability
- Make phone calls to clients to inform them of missing information or inform them that their tax return is ready to be picked up
- Take mail to the post office daily
- Other basic administrative functions and a maintained focus on organization Requirements
- Proven experience working in either a general office setting or another accounting office during busy/peak season (preferred)
- Maintain a positive & optimistic attitude
- Possess strong clerical and organizational skills
- Demonstrate strong communication skills with the ability to speak clearly and confidently
- Above average competency to follow instructions and perform in a fast-paced environment
