Job Description
We are seeking an energetic, dependable, and detail-oriented Front Desk Receptionist to be the welcoming face of our behavioral health practice. This is an important, fast-paced position responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the front desk and providing excellent service to our patients.
Please note:
This position will be the sole Front Desk Receptionist at the location. You will independently manage front desk responsibilities while working closely alongside a supportive clinical team that includes a Medical Assistant, counselors, and psychiatric providers . The ideal candidate is comfortable taking ownership of the front desk, multitasking, staying organized, and communicating effectively with both patients and clinical staff. Duties Serve as the primary Front Desk Receptionist and manage daily front desk operations Greet and check in patients in a warm, professional, and welcoming manner Answer and manage incoming calls using a multi-line phone system while maintaining excellent phone etiquette Schedule, reschedule, and cancel patient appointments while maintaining accurate provider schedules Assist patients with general questions and direct clinical concerns to the appropriate team member Perform accurate data entry and maintain patient information and records Communicate and coordinate with the Medical Assistant, counselors, and providers throughout the day Handle incoming and outgoing mail, faxes, documents, and other correspondence Maintain organized front desk files and administrative records Complete routine administrative and clerical tasks as needed Maintain a clean, professional, and organized front desk and waiting area Handle multiple responsibilities and changing priorities efficiently in a fast-paced behavioral health setting Maintain patient confidentiality and professionalism at all times Experience & Qualifications Previous front desk, receptionist, administrative, or clerical experience is preferred Experience working independently and managing multiple responsibilities is strongly preferred Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Excellent verbal and written communication skills Strong customer service skills with a professional and compassionate approach Comfortable managing a busy multi-line phone system Strong computer skills and ability to learn electronic scheduling and patient management systems Proficiency with Microsoft Office and/or Google Workspace Medical, behavioral health, or dental office experience is advantageous but not required Bilingual ability is a plus Ability to remain professional and organized in a busy environment Dependable, punctual, and comfortable taking ownership of front desk responsibilities This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working independently while still being part of a collaborative healthcare team.
