A Receptionist greets and directs customers or visitors that come in to an office or business, and answers and directs incoming phone calls. Deals with mail or courier services. May schedule appointments or meeting rooms, gather patient information, or assist with filing or other administrative support work.
Job Description - Receptionist The Receptionist will operate front office reception and administration duties, including greeting clients and guests, answering phones, scheduling appointments, verifying insurances, handling company inquiries, and maintaining records and accounts. The Receptionist will be the client's first point of contact and will ensure they feel welcomed. This is a part-time position, working 2 days a week(Thursday and Friday), 9am-5pm.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Welcome clients and visitors by greeting them, in person or on the telephone and answering or referring their inquiries. Schedule appointments in person or by telephone. Create and update client charts Verify client's insurances Communicate with clients, visitors, physicians, and fellow staff in a professional, friendly and courteous manner. Ensure availability of treatment information by filing and retrieving patient records. Maintain client accounts by obtaining, recording, and updating personal and financial information. Obtain revenue by recording and updating financial information; recording and collecting patient charges; controlling credit extended to patients; filing, collecting, and expediting third-party claims. Maintain business office inventory and equipment by checking stock to determine inventory level, anticipating needed supplies, verifying receipt of supplies; and scheduling equipment service and repairs. Protect clients' rights by maintaining confidentiality of personal and financial information. Comfort clients by upholding company's values, answering clients' questions and maintaining the reception areas. Represents the company and county as assigned. Other duties that may apply
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent. 0-1 year of experience in substance abuse facility preferred. Knowledge of basic telephone etiquette. Excellent typing skills. Excellent computer skills. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively as a team, interfacing with patients, primary care providers, other mental health specialists, and fellow staff. Excellent problem solving, time management and customer service skills. Knowledge of Medical Terminology preferred. Comprehensive knowledge and experience in Microsoft Office Suites, including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
Physical Requirements:
Speaking and hearing ability sufficient to communicate effectively by phone or in person at normal volumes. Vision adequate to read correspondence, computer screen, forms, etc. Moving requires occasional lifting, pulling and stooping.
