Job Description

Job Summary/Overall Objectives The Front Desk Greeter serves as the first contact between the Hospital and the public at the visitor entrances. The Greeter provides visitors with information and assists with their needs while following Hospital policies. Works as a liaison between visitors and various departments to carry out requests. Essential Job Functions Responsible to screen patients, visitors, and vendors for entry into the Hospital. Assures that everyone is following Hospital policy. Ensures visitors are directed accurately. Monitors and enforced changing visitation hours. Calls the floors to gain permission for visitors to see a patient when it is outside the parameters of our policy. Remains calm and attempts to de-escalate stressful situations. Works cooperatively with volunteers and light duty employees who may also be working at the front desks. Contacts clergy as directed by the department seeking pastoral care for a patient. Works as a liaison between the public/vendors and Hospital departments to gather and/or distribute various patient materials. Keeps work environment clean and assists with hospitality and clerical duties while ensuring that our patients and visitor's expectations are exceeded. Competency and Experience [Knowledge, Skills and Abilities] Required Qualifications/Experience High School Diploma, GED or higher level of education. On the job training provided Preferred Qualifications/Experience Six months' experience in customer service role. Experience in Healthcare setting. License, Certification & Clearances Act 34-PA Criminal Record Check from the PA State Police system Position Type/Expected Hours of Work Incumbent will be scheduled based on operational need (rotate shifts, standby, on-call, etc.).
