Job Description
Job Summary Join our dynamic veterinary team as a Veterinary Receptionist, where your energetic and compassionate approach will be the first point of contact for pet owners and their beloved animals. In this vital role, you will manage front desk operations, coordinate appointments, and provide exceptional customer service while supporting the clinical team with administrative and animal care tasks if needed. Your enthusiasm and organizational skills will help create a welcoming environment that promotes pet health and client satisfaction. Responsibilities Greet clients warmly, answer phone calls, and schedule appointments efficiently using veterinary software systems. Manage medical collections and billing processes accurately while ensuring compliance with Veterinary Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) and USDA regulations. Assist with animal handling, including dog handling, animal restraint, and basic pet care to support veterinary procedures and examinations. Maintain detailed records of client interactions, medical histories, laboratory results, and treatment plans. Facilitate communication between clients and veterinary staff regarding treatment plans, follow-up care, and medication instructions. Assist veterinary team during surgeries or critical care procedures by preparing supplies and maintaining aseptic techniques. Perform laboratory tasks such as sample collection, processing, and recording results to aid in diagnostics. Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations. Contribute to a positive clinic environment through excellent customer service, animal handling expertise, and teamwork. Qualifications Proven experience in a veterinary clinic setting or related animal care environment is highly preferred. Strong knowledge of veterinary terminology, medical-surgical procedures, and companion animal medicine. Familiarity with veterinary software systems such as Covetrus Pulse is advantageous. Excellent communication skills for client interaction and team collaboration. Ability to perform multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. Knowledge of laboratory procedures, aseptic techniques, and drug regulations (DEA) is desirable. Experience with large animal handling is a plus but not required.
