Job Description
Please read the following thoroughly before applying, including the notes about scheduling requirements to help determine if this position may be a good fit for you. First requirement for this job is, like any position with our company, you must be kind to dogs, their humans, and your colleagues.
Job Requirements:
You must be very outgoing with a cheerful personality to greet customers, respond to customer requests and questions, and help them schedule services. You must be well-organized and have exceptional attention to detail to correctly apply service charges and maintain customer records. You must firmly understand and embrace our standards of care to ensure dogs are handled safely and humanely and so that the facility is clean and safe at all times. We are looking for someone who: Loves dogs, has experience with dogs, and is comfortable handling dogs of all sizes and temperaments (shy, nervous, rambunctious, lazy, stubborn) Has previous experience in any type of professional office environment Is outgoing and has strong interpersonal skills - likes to talk to people Demonstrates exceptional customer service skills and the ability to speak and write professionally Has strong computer skills: Word, Excel, and most importantly, the ability to learn our client services and scheduling software (Gingr) Has good organizational and follow-through skills Has a flexible schedule Has the physical stamina to stand and move for long periods of time and can lift and restrain dogs Is dependable, reliable, punctual, and trustworthy Is a quick learner and can work independently Can perform tasks with a high degree of accuracy Carries her/him/themself professionally but doesn't mind getting dirty (dogs are messy) Can and will perform many cleaning chores, including cleaning up after dogs (who are messy) Can stand loud noise for long periods of time (ear protection is available and encouraged) The following experience is highly desired but not required: familiar with dog behavior familiar with dog vaccines and dog health This position is ideal for someone who has worked in a veterinary hospital, though this experience is not required.PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING ABOUT OUR SCHEDULE
You may be scheduled for morning shifts (typically 6:30 am - 1 pm) , or evening shifts (1 pm - 7:30 pm), as needed during the week. Weekend hours vary. You must be flexible to work as needed. You must be willing and flexible to work holidays, though you will not be expected to work every holiday. You must be available for occasional Saturdays AND Sundays to assist with dog care, though you will not be scheduled for every weekend because we rotate these shifts among the entire staff.COMPENSATION
Everyone starts at $15/hour. Pay adjustments are considered after completing a probationary period and with each performance review period thereafter. Opportunities for promotion to supervisory or managerial positions will be available.INTERVIEWS
