Job Overview Viking Motel is seeking a personable, reliable, and detail-oriented Front Desk Receptionist to serve as the first point of contact for our guests. Situated on the iconic South Ocean Boulevard just steps from the Atlantic Ocean, Viking Motel is a beloved Myrtle Beach destination welcoming vacationers and travelers year-round. In this role, you will be responsible for delivering an exceptional guest experience from arrival to departure. The ideal candidate brings a warm and professional demeanor, strong organizational skills, and a genuine passion for hospitality. Responsibilities Welcome guests warmly upon arrival and complete check-in and check-out procedures accurately and efficiently Respond to guest inquiries, special requests, and concerns in a prompt, courteous, and professional manner Provide recommendations for local dining, attractions, and beach activities to enhance the guest experience Resolve guest complaints with empathy and professionalism, escalating issues to management when necessary Manage room reservations, cancellations, modifications, and room assignments using the property management system (PMS) Answer incoming phone calls, take messages, and respond to email inquiries in a timely fashion Process payments, collect deposits, and issue accurate receipts for all transactions Maintain up-to-date records of room availability, guest accounts, and occupancy data Communicate effectively with housekeeping to ensure rooms are cleaned and ready for check-in on schedule Coordinate with maintenance staff to report and follow up on room or property issues Monitor and maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming lobby and front desk area Manage key card issuance, safe deposit box usage, and lost & found procedures Conduct night audit duties and prepare end-of-day reports if assigned to evening or overnight shifts Experience Excellent verbal and written communication skills Strong customer service orientation with a friendly, approachable manner Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment, especially during peak season Basic computer literacy and comfort learning new software systems Availability to work flexible shifts including weekends, evenings, and holidays Reliable, punctual, and professional in appearance Join us to become an integral part of a vibrant team dedicated to delivering outstanding service while growing your professional skills in a supportive environment!
