Job Description

Job Overview To assist in checking patients in and out and administrative tasks for a fast-paced medical office. Applicant would rotate between front office/check out and possibly nursing/clinical duties. Candidate must be professional; patient focused and must maintain confidentiality. Must be able to multitask with interruptions. Duties
  • Check in Patients
  • Collect copays, deductibles, balances
  • Set up payment plans
  • Update patient forms
  • Scan insurance and ID cards
  • Properly input patient demographics/insurance into system
  • Check patient insurance eligibility
  • Check insurance authorizations
  • Explain patient balances/basic insurance billing
  • Answer telephones
  • Schedule patient appointments
  • Coordinate patient flow with clinical staff, communicate delays to patients
  • Provide timely and accurate information and quality customer service to incoming patient inquiries.
  • Process incoming referrals
  • Maintain front office/waiting area appearance Requirements
  • 1 year minimum experience in medical
  • HIPAA must know policies and abide by them.
  • Know basic insurance terms (co-pay, co-insurance, deductible, out of pocket)
  • Knowledge in healthcare field and infection control practices
  • Knowledge of Electronic Medical Records (EMR)
  • Basic computer skills
  • Basic knowledge in medical terminology
  • Arrive at work at 7:50am to open practice at 8:00am Tues, Wed., and Fri. and arrive at 8:20am Mon and Thur.
  • Occasionally stay after 5:00pm/5:30pm
